‘Kindness in Communication’ ideas by IUE students

Students of Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) developed creative ideas for a world-famous tire brand (Continental) with the theme of 'kindness communication'. A total of 28 students, divided into 6 groups, worked all day long to create environmentalist, easy-to-apply, effective and sustainable projects in the event called ‘Keep It Good Advertising Workshop Series’.
In the event held in cooperation with IUE Faculty of Communication and Izmir Association of Advertising Agencies (IRD), IUE students, who prepared the works titled ‘Pet şişeden lastiklere' (From plastic bottles to tires), ‘#Sürdürebilmekiçinsür’ (Drive for Sustainability), ‘Sen de kahraman ol’ ('You too become a hero), ‘Sürerek sürdürün’ (Drive to sustain), ‘Dönüşümü taşıyoruz’ (We carry the transformation), and ‘Siz Continental ile sürdükçe yaşam da sizinle sürüyor’ (Life goes on as long as you go on with Continental), were appreciated with their suggestions that make a difference. Students worked with mentors from IRD throughout the day. At the end of the event held at the IUE Conference Hall, students presented their creative ideas to IRD members and company officials.
THEY BOTH PRODUCED AND LEARNED
Prof. Dr. Sema Misci Kip, Lecturer of Department of Public Relations and Advertising, stated that they attach great importance to the activity in terms of developing the culture of working together as well as the creativity of the students. Prof. Dr. Misci Kip said, “We have been holding the 'Keep It Good Advertising Workshop Series' event hosted by the University on the theme of 'kindness communication' for three years. Such activities are very valuable in terms of students developing new ideas by using the knowledge they have acquired in the department, meeting people from different sectors and having an environment and showing their talents. Our students completed their meticulous work with the support of IRD member mentors. They enjoyed both developing new ideas and learning new things.”
Adding that as a department, they will continue to make exemplary projects and collaborations for university-city integration, Prof. Dr. Misci Kip emphasized that they aim to create new opportunities for their students in this way.
