SEE LIKE A CHILD PROJECT IN EUROPE
See Like a Child project, launched in 2018 by Faculty of Communication students and attracted support from all universities, including the universities in the Aegean region, now opens to Europe.
See Like a Child Project, which aims to eliminate the negative discourse on refugee children, is now making its voice heard also in Europe. See Like a Child Project received a positive response from the Erasmus + KA3 Structured Dialogue application and students will develop solutions with the university students from abroad and share those with decision-makers.
Dialogue Week will be held between the 6th and 10th of May at our university. See Like a Child team will host university students from Turkey, Portugal, Spain and Greece. During the week, students will have the opportunity to come together with the Project’s partner institutions as well as refugee children and have the opportunity to better understand the problems experienced. During the games and workshops organized for children, they will be able to communicate with them one-to-one. A total of 133 guest students are expected to attend the Dialogue Week. These students will be transfer the good and bad practices in their own country. At the same time, they will forward the reports to be prepared to decision-makers in their own countries and Turkey.
The most important aim of the Dialogue Week is to bring young people and decision makers together at a common point and to find solutions for refugee children, which is one of the most important problems of the society. While working toward this purpose, being with students in different countries is one of the most important steps in carrying the project to the international level. Another significant objective of this activity is that, at the end of the activity, to make students attending the ‘’Dialogue Week’’ to adopt the understanding of looking at the refugee children as ‘’child’’ and to change the views of the people surrounding them in this direction.
